Willistead Classic
Concours d'Elegance is set for August 24, 2008, and the road
tour returns for
2008 on August 23rd.
Over the past
20 years, the Willistead Classic Concours
d'Elegance has grown into one of the largest and most
prestigious events of its kind in Canada. First held in 1987,
the "Willistead Classic" is patterned after the annual classic
car "Concours d'Elegance" held at Meadow Brook, the former Dodge
family estate in Rochester, Michigan. The scene is set on
the beautiful 15-acre park which has remained virtually
untouched in the past 100 years of it's existence.
Entrants for this show are the best of the best, and are hand
selected by our committee from central Canada and the Midwestern
United States. The emphasis is placed true classics -
elegant luxury cars built during the Golden Age of the
Automobile between 1925 and 1948. In addition to this,
vehicles from the turn of the century to the timeless classic of
the 50's as well as rare and desirable muscle cars of the 60's
and 70's are well represented.
The purpose of the Willistead
Classic Concours d'Elegance is to raise funds for the continuing
restoration and maintenance of Willistead which includes, in a
beautiful park like setting, the Elizabethan Tudor-style Manor
and Coach House. For more history on Willistead Manor, and
